SCHOOLS OUTT FOR SUMMERR!! Its official, I wrote my last exam today at nine this morning, and I am done!! No more classes, no more teachers, no more homework!! Now that school is done, I have plenty of time to focus on relaxing... OH WAIT THAILAND!! Right, so this summer is already starting out absolutely crazy. Between working for my family, trying to spend as much time with my friends before I leave and getting ready for Thailand, I am absolutely swamped. I left school this morning at eleven and went straight to my grandmothers where I worked for three hours, returning home to clean my bedroom and start writing letters requesting pins for my exchange. Tomorrow, I am waking up bright and early to go deliver the pins and start running errands. It’s all happening so quick.
About a week ago, my host mother Suchida, contacted me through Facebook. She confirmed that I will be living in Maha Sarakham, a small university town. I have a host brother named, Go, he returned from an exchange in Brazil on Monday. I think it is really awesome that he has gone on an exchange because he will know what it’s like. I haven’t received my guarantee form yet, and I am little worried that the Canada Post Strike is going to affect its arrival. My guarantee form is such an important document, without it, I can’t book my flight or anything.
Maha Sarakham is the highlighted region
I am starting to get really excited. I think about Thailand all the time. It haunts my every thought, beckoning me with its mysterious ways and enchanting nature. I can’t wait to experience all of it, the people, the food, the sights, the sounds, the smells. Everything sounds so beautiful and foreign. Just think, an estimated 54 days and I will be in Thailand, bringing all of you with me on my wonderful journey.
I am also starting to get a little anxious about leaving my friends and family. I am not going to lie; a few tears have been shed, when the thought comes up. I am going to be leaving such an amazing and supportive group of friends here in Canada. <3 Holly, Kate, Emily, Katie and Ben oh how I wish I could take you all with me and show you all the amazing things I am going to see and experience, but I can’t. So my blog is dedicated to all the people who have supported me through this journey so far and who will continue supporting me while in Thailand, keep checking in and reading about my journey in Thailand. I love you all!!
