Hey everybody, sorry I haven’t updated in so long I have been super busy. So much has happened since my last post. I went down to the district meeting in North Bay with my parents to discuss all the boring Rotary stuff, prices, insurance, vaccinations, but besides that I also got to meet up again with all the out bounds. It was great to see them all again, they are all such fun people. I also presented my speech in Thai for everyone... ugh... to say the least I definitely struggled over that. In the end I did manage to spit it out though, and because no one spoke Thai, they thought I did great! XD
I have also been really trying to save money for my exchange; right now my deal with my parents is I have to save a minimum of $1000 before I can spend any money. Unfortunately we made this decision three weeks before my job ended (it was seasonal; I worked at a ski resort). So now I am jobless, moneyless and it’s the time of the year when there is always something that cost money going on. Luckily I have been babysitting my brother a lot and doing a few chores around the house so I have currently saved around $750!! :D My parents also said they would match however much I saved so I am trying so hard to find a job, but it is really hard. There are a lot of kids in this little town and them all want jobs, plus no one wants to hire some one who could leave for a year at any point during the summer. Oh well, I will keep trying and hopefully, something will work out.
One thing that has been going well is collecting bottle donations. I have already made three trips in and I have made about $50, which is awesome. I am always available to pick up your bottles just call or email me!
So, I will continue to try and learn Thai (there are absolutely no tutors in like a two hour radius of my house), try and find a job and continue collecting bottles. Next time something exciting happens, I will for sure keep you updated!
