So we are getting down to the nitty gritty here 3 days until I leave and wow am I feeling it. Saying good bye to Simon today was really hard. He is the first of my friends I have had to say good bye to and it just makes it freakishly real. So this blog post is dedicated to Simon Veall, one of the coolest kids, I know. Simon is responsible for my love of the UK show Skins, for teaching me how to skateboard and for fuelling my love of MGMT and the Wavves. Simon and I like to go swimming, in really big waves. Just jump and splash around. Simon’s childlike innocence, dashing style and amazing taste in music make for some good times. Simon, I’m going to miss you! And your beautiful Cruiser too, take care of her while I’m gone.
So, I have almost finished packing, I just have to go through it once with my mom and then put it in the suitcase and leave it. The hard part isn’t figuring out what to pack. Its figuring out what to wear once it’s all packed. For example, today I wore an interesting combination of a vintage leopard print maxi skirt with a black crop top, a very editorial look, if you will. Luckily, I was able to change for bowling tonight into an old pair of jean shorts and a grey sweater. Also, make up and jewellery are hard to leave alone. We bought all new make up to bring to Thailand because all of my make up is in huge palettes. Ofcourse, now i want to use all my new make up but I can’t. I am very fond of my jewellery and find it hard to not have access to all of it. I find it so restricting. Those are just a few of the struggles the fashion conscience have to deal with when packing for a year.Oh yes and the festivities, how festive they have been. On Sunday, we spent a beautiful day at the beach, with the family celebrating my departure. We had a lovely time building sand castles, swimming and lying in the sun. My parents surprised me with cupcakes, ( yumm my favourite) with the thai flag on it and คำอำลา (farewell) Chantel ! It was a wonderful party.
xoxo
